My brothers car was stolen in June of this year and was found- (well its shell) burnt out a few days later- wee b***ds!!!
Anyway my brother was interviewed by the police at the time and his wife also.
Insurance company has also been out and taken statements from them both.
Now almost 4 months down the line they have again contacted the insurance company to find out whats going on- they say they are waiting on the police finalising the details/closing the case whatever it is they do so the can pay out.
My SIL has contacted the police again and passed this info to them and they sai " well it will take as long as it takes"
Meanwhile they are paying for a car they do not have and are unable to get 1 on finance again as they are not in a financial situation to do so until this is cleared.
Can the police delay like this? why are they not just closing it for them?
any advice would be much appreciated
