Should I switch to universal credit ?!

I'm a single mum and I currently get working tax credit and child tax credit working 30 hours a week. I did a quick calculation on line to see if I would be better off on universal credit and all it says if 'you could be better off' not 'you will be better off' !! I'm scared to move over in case I find that I'm worse off than before. Has anyone else been in this situation? Don't the tax credits people work it out for you before they change you over ? Also how do I change over if I choose to ? Sorry for all the questions.

I wouldn't. In general single mum's are better on tax credits and child tax credits.

No one will work it out for you unless you go to somewhere like CAB and ask for a better off calculation. If you choose to switch to Uc you just apply online and your tax credits will stop straight away. There is a five week ( approx.) wait for first Uc payment, but you can take an advance to tide you over.
