Sticks and shares ISA

I am thinking of opening a stocks and shares ISA. What happens with dividends, do they get added into the ISA or paid out to your separately? I don’t seem to be able to find the answer from the faq I’ve been reading.

Unless you want the ISA for income, the dividends would normally be paid back into the ISA to accumulate and reinvest.

However you would need to confirm this before setting the ISA up.
