When do you pay for online shopping?

Dh gets paid friday and we need shopping at some point this weekend. I wanted to do an online shop but wasn't sure if they charge you when you put the order in or when its gets delivered?!

anyone know?

I think when it's delivered? You could always order it up online now, book it for Friday delivery. Doesn't it take 24 hours to clear through bank if paying by debit card?

hmmm, yeah possibly, just really dont wanna risk the money not being there iykwim, dont need more bank charges!

they take £2 when you order (to check your card) and the shopping £ on the day, a few hours before delivery. Then your £2 just isn't taken and goes back on your card.

Tesco take payment on delivery - no charge for anything else AFAIK
