My cousin has received a letter from a debt collection agency for someone who she used to live with and is sending it back to them, but she is worried incase they pursue it with her.
What, if anything, can they do???

My friend had this situation, she phoned the debt company and explained the situation. She was not pursued. The debt is not in her name so it is irrelevant that she lives at the address

I had this wiht my ex.. actually had a hand delivered letter from a bailiff - I phoned, explained I hadn't seen him for months - never heard another thing..

I think they must have this all the time to be honest

yep I would phone them, just say they are not at this address and that she doesn't know where they live, they should leave you alone then.

We had lots of letters at an address - at the time we didn't know what they were about. We just put them back in box "return to sender".

Eventually we had a letter in an identical envelope "To the occupier", basically asking if we had a forwarding adderss etc. We replied saying "no" and never heard from them again.

Thanks for the replies,
I'll let her know and tell her to just ring them
