OK the house of twig has been overspending drastically in recent months, so I'm about to start sorting it out again (took my eye off the ball you see)

I know we do style and healthy living makeovers on here

Anybody want to join my Money Boot Camp? Get control of your money and stay in control?

NB this may be well over my head though but I'm pretty good at this normally

sign-up if you wanna try .. we could start next month?

I am going to do salary sacrifice yes. Just need to ask my childminder but cant see why she would object. I can do up to 55 quid a week - as i SPEND 200 a month (only 1 full day a qweek) it is fine

unknownrebelbang · 26/09/2007 14:01

Just had to miss buying fruit and cheese in the local market because I had to deal with a minor crisis over DS1 instead.

So spent nowt yet, but may have to call Tesco tonight instead...

tut tut mascara, lol, although the above did mean I didn't get chance to look in the shops, therefore avoiding temptation.

I just looked at my receipt..

..woman at the til didn't ring through the lovely poncho-y type thing.. can I count that as money saving?

and no, I'm not going to be honest and tell them! saving of £16.

MrsPuddleduck · 26/09/2007 14:45

Any money I manage to get in which is 'spare' is definitely going towards Christmas.

I still have to sell some things on EBAY so I can get some money together for new toys.

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 26/09/2007 19:26

well have managed to gather together the £300 we were going to be down this month so we're doing well!!!

haven't spent anything today except £2 on my oyster card but im guna count spending that as when i top it up not acctually use it IYSWIM?

am doing quite well i suppose, have barely spent anything, although need to go to the market tomo to buy fruit and veg and send a parcel but the p+p has been paid by the buyer so no problem there!

scattyspice · 26/09/2007 19:51

Mascara.
Issy your bloke sounds like mine (but mine doesn't provide useful graphic analysis LOL).

Whats an oyster card?

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 26/09/2007 19:53

its a card for the buses, im in london you see.

so normal fares are £2 a journey whereas if i use the oyster its £1 and i dont have to carry cash!

scattyspice · 26/09/2007 20:05

Look .. you're all adults .. if you're spending money on stuff you can afford great .. if you're spending money you haven't got .. stop it

if you're spending money you NEED to .. then fine

if you're spending money because you WANT to .. then stop it

Been to Tesco, only bought fruit/veg and stuff for sandwiches etc, and spent over £20! Not unhappy with what I bought (only extra was chocolate - stress rations) but blimey I wouldn't have spent that much in the market.

Made a pillock of myself though.

Picked up an item that i thought was half-price, but charged full price, so I went to customer service, but I'd got it wrong, then I picked up that the 2 for £1 thing hadn't worked on another item, only it appears they didn't scan the second item...so I ended up paying another 40p!!!

Twiglett · 27/09/2007 08:01

I spent £46 on books at the book people site .. am justifying it madly .. they are books for the kids and one is a present for my father .. they are reading books and history / crafty books .. its an investment in their future isn't it? ... so patently doesn't count, does it?

arrrgghhh

I think I need a co-captain who can kick my butt please

OP posts:
chocolateteapot · 27/09/2007 08:09

Can't kick you up the butt as I have a Book People order that arrived yesterday so am in no position to . But I firmly believe books are guilt free, investment in the future and all that - and how much more would you have spent if you hadn't have bought them from the Book People ?!

Twiglett · 27/09/2007 08:11

but actually I bought them from school link from the book people so there is a double whammy of a donation to school as well ... I am beyond reproach

OP posts:
chocolateteapot · 27/09/2007 08:15

Oh well I am stuffed then. I'm getting thrown off the thread and bought straight off the Book People site, depriving DD's school of money I didn't know they could have
