Tax credits terminated

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help.
I had no tax credit payment today, and after calling the helpline I was told it had been terminated! The advisor could see no reason why and has escalated it. I received my provisional paperwork on 6th April and everything is correct on it. Had anyone had this happen, or can offer any advice? Thank you.

If you've applied for UC it will terminate immediately and HMRC won't even talk to you.

Has someone claimed uc on your behalf? There is a scam going around where they get your details make s claim get your advance and fuck off

This has happened to me. Not due a payment until Thursday but I called last week to query something and they told me it has been terminated and when I log on line it redirects me to universal credit. No idea why; no changes, nothing. They have put a note on system but I'm hoping for payment on Thursday.

What did they say to you then, are they going to restart it for you

It wouldn’t let them restart it for me and she’s had to urgently refer it on

Hi all, thought I might update! So today my post landed with two letters, informing me that I didn’t renew last year, all my payments have now been stopped and they would like their money back. Thank the Lord I renewed online and have an email to prove it! I got the impression this has been a real problem as they have just been given guidance on corrections, but it will take up to 28 days. They said it occurred because somehow my renewal was submitted twice, which meant it wasn’t received at all.

Looked online and it said renewal was automatic. I’ll call them tomorrow thank you
