Do you have to pay back Legal Aid yonks after youve received it?!?!

My pita ex has informed me yesterday that when i go back to work fulltime i will have to repay all the legal aid that ive been getting on/off for the past 3 years whilst he keeps taking me to court for stupid reasons regarding contact.

He seems to forget that our little one received high rate DLA and i only work a few hours because of caring for him, the plank.

Is he right though? When i do work full time eventually, could be 10 years before i can up my hours to fulltime, depending on my sons needs, do you have to pay back it back, even though 10years could have lapsed.

Whats the point in giving it to you in the first place

Thanks

from what this says, it's only if you've gained or kept money (eg damages) or proprty that legal aid is repayable. So if all of it has been for sorting out contact with your ex I don't think you have to repay anything due to change of circumstances in the future, it's based on your means at the time of receipt.

thanks for that betsyboop, my ex was quite smugly adamant about it, perhaps thats the only reason he takes me to court, in the hope that i might be footed with a hefty bill in years to come
