Car insurance dilemma

Hi all.
Myself and OH both have a car each, OH's car is starting to cost a lot in repairs and would like to keep his as a weekend only car so to speak. He's asked if (once corona is over) if he could start using mine on a daily basis which is fine I don't really use mine that frequently but everything is in my name on the car and I am the main driver on the insurance. How do we go about the insurance? I know not many companies will give you cover unless you're the keeper/owner of the vehicle and I don't want him to not be the main driver on the insurance just in the eventuality of an accident I'm really stuck any advice please?

As the more frequent driver, he will need to be main driver, I don't think it matters that he isn't the keeper. You become a named driver.

Might be worth becoming the main driver on his car, that keeps up your no claims.

It’s fine to have someone as the main driver who isn’t the legal owner/keeper. I’m the legal owner/keeper for both our cars, then I have one policy where I’m the main driver, then DH has a policy where he’s the main driver. As long as you make all this clear to the insurance company it’s fine.

Yes, that’s fine. DH is the legal owner of “my” car and I am the named driver.
