Ive just logged on and saw that my renewal has been done automatically, payments significantly lower. I know tc is based on imcome from the previous year but the thing is my partner lost his job due to covid19 he does have a new job but the salary is ALOT less than his previous job. I have updated the estimated income for 20-21 are the payments likely to stay the same or will they be increased as he wont earn much this coming year?

Anyone?

They will recalculate based on your estimate, takes 6-8 weeks normally but probably longer at the moment. Make sure you update again if your income increases during the year, otherwise you will end up with an overpayment which you need to pay back.

Devlesko · 16/04/2020 16:02

Do we not get postal renewal anymore?
I'm not sure how to do mine online?

Mumto1girl3boys · 16/04/2020 16:30

I usually do my renewal through the post so im not sure why it renewed automatically this year, ive never had that before!

@ForeverBubblegum thankyou. I do all my changes online so the change in income has updated already im just waiting on the payments being updated which i know normally takes 24 hours. Im just abit worried as the income for the coming year is next to nothing compared to the 1 weve just had

@Devlesko sign up to the government gateway account, you can see past payments, future payments and make changes etc

LetMeOut · 16/04/2020 17:20

My payments have gone down but I haven't renewed yet. Does it say that yours has been automatically renewed.

Mumto1girl3boys · 16/04/2020 18:21

@LetMeOut i spoke to them on chat to see why my payments had gone down and they said it had been automatically renewed

OP posts:
LetMeOut · 16/04/2020 18:34

Mine is saying I will receive renewal in post but payments have gone down when I was expecting them to go up Sad

catinb0oots · 16/04/2020 18:39

Mine have gone down too

Devlesko · 16/04/2020 20:26

I have tried but it doesn't let me as our accountant has the account number as she normally manages it, long story but she files our self assessment and it's the same number.
Will have to get in touch and ask her for account details.
How can they go down when you haven't even sent the new details?

SpideyMom · 16/04/2020 23:10

This has made me check mine, and it's the same for me as LetMeOut. It says I will receive my pack by 26th June. But I was also expecting my payments to go up and they havent. Looks like another year of the same crap I had last year where it took 5 months to sort

SpideyMom · 16/04/2020 23:15

After looking again my pack hasnt been posted. But when it is my TC will be reduced due to my pension arrangement needing to be declared separately

AlohaMolly · 16/04/2020 23:21

I’ve checked mine off the back of this thread and it just says my pack hasn’t been sent out yet, and my payments haven’t been reduced.

I thought we’d all be due more because didn’t the government say they’d increased the threshold or something?

Both Dp and I work in the tourism industry in wales, I’ve been furloughed and he runs his own business and has lost all his contracts so we are going to see a significant drop in income this year like millions of others, I’m sure. So we just fill in the renewal pick when it comes?

LetMeOut · 17/04/2020 09:56

@AlohaMolly that's exactly like me. It does say when you look at next payments that the extra should be paid by 18th May so hopefully will be updated soon

Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 10:00

I had a chat with them yesterday, just ask if I need to tell them of my change in circumstances (self-employed, no income since 23rd March) they said I'm to contact them again in 8 weeks, they're not doing anything until 8 weeks after I last worked.

Mumto1girl3boys · 17/04/2020 10:49

Well ive checked my payments again this morning after i updated the income yesterday and they still havent changed, so looks like we're living off of £29 a week. Great!

OP posts:
Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 10:56

I just got £106 in my bank. I'm not due a payment til the 1st May, christ, I hope that's a bit extra, not my whole payment!

Mumto1girl3boys · 17/04/2020 11:12

@dhalandchips Ive got an extra payment of £32 going in my bank on monday and my payments have reduced to £29 so your £106 may well be your new payment plus a bit extra

OP posts:
AlohaMolly · 17/04/2020 11:15

I’ve double checked mine again and no mention of extra payments or anything!

Mumto1girl3boys · 17/04/2020 11:36

@alohamolly they must not have got round to your renewal yet, cant believe how much my payments have reduced by and even though this years income is next to nothing the payments havent changed. So worried about how we're going to manage

OP posts:
Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 12:48

Surely someone should have written though?

Mumto1girl3boys · 17/04/2020 12:53

@dhalandchips the letters always arrive after the payment. Can you not log in and check your payments?

OP posts:
Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 12:53

Just tried to the chat thingy again, they're all busy at the moment. I'll really be up shit creek if that's my monthly award. I'm on a very tight budget. Just about getting by without work at the moment...

Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 12:54

I know I'm very fortunate all things considered.

Dhalandchips · 17/04/2020 13:05

I'll find my gateway log in and have a look.
