For people who were already on universal credit before corona virus, are u still getting paid on time?

OP posts:
Teacaketotty · 29/03/2020 15:10

I started on it in February, after my job offer was retracted due to CV, and my payments have been on time and everything seems okay.

StudentMummy20 · 29/03/2020 16:38

I got paid 17th March as normal, who knows about April, haven't heard otherwise.

hungrycater · 29/03/2020 17:09

Are all payment dates the 17th for everyone? Just wondered as mine is

OP posts:
Teacaketotty · 29/03/2020 17:12

Nope mines is the 19th April

Teacaketotty · 29/03/2020 17:12

Actually so yeah that would be the 17th, maybe it is then?!

sweetpea2811 · 29/03/2020 17:15

Your payment date is whatever date you put your claim in originally. I have been paid as normal so far.

Bringmewineandcake · 29/03/2020 17:35

Mine is the 5th so I'll find out soon

StudentMummy20 · 29/03/2020 17:39

@hungrycater Payment date is 6 days after the date of the month you put your claim in and 7 days after the last date of your AP. For your 17th pay date like mine, your assessment period would be 11th-10th of every month. If payday was the 28th, the assessment period would be 22nd-21st.

StudentMummy20 · 29/03/2020 17:41

Posted too soon. As above, for an 11th-10th assessment period you would have made the claim on the 11th and for the 22nd-21st assessment period, the 22nd would have the first date of the claim.

hungrycater · 29/03/2020 18:49

@Bringmewineandcake can u keep us posted please? 5th is saturday so u should get paid Friday

OP posts:
Babyroobs · 29/03/2020 18:50

Everyone's payments are going up by about £83 a month form May payments as well as the annual increase from April 6th.

hungrycater · 29/03/2020 19:16

@Babyroobs is the £83 monthly increase an ongoing change do u know or just Cos of covid19?

OP posts:
Babyroobs · 29/03/2020 19:22

It's for 12 months because of Covid 19.

hungrycater · 29/03/2020 19:47

Oh ok that's useful then

OP posts:
hungrycater · 29/03/2020 20:33

@Babyroobs I was just googling this and it says payments will increase if u are eligible/vulnerable so I don't think every single person on UC automatically gets it

OP posts:
Maxineputyourredshoeson · 29/03/2020 20:36

@hungrycater It’s the standard element that has gone up for all on UC and WTC. I got paid on the 20th and all went in fine, no issues.

HavenDilemma · 29/03/2020 20:37

Yep, no issues. I'm on long term high rate of the Disability element (LCWRA)

HavenDilemma · 29/03/2020 20:37

My payment date is 20th of every month

HavenDilemma · 29/03/2020 20:39

I haven't been told of any increase? I've been on UC- LCWRA since it started

PorpentinaScamander · 29/03/2020 20:41

The increase wont apply if you're already affected by the benefit cap as that is staying the same.

I was paid on time last week.

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 29/03/2020 20:44

@HavenDilemma it was announced that the standard element of UC and WTC was being increased by £20pw for 12mths due to coronavirus. There is more about it in the link I attached.

Bringmewineandcake · 29/03/2020 21:53

hungrycater I logged into my account on the back of this thread and should be getting paid as normal on Friday.

I can check back in on the thread on Friday and let you know if it does go through ok?

hungrycater · 29/03/2020 21:59

@Bringmewineandcake yes please

OP posts:
Babyroobs · 29/03/2020 22:25

I think I read somewhere it will be from may payments.
