Travel insurance question - are we covered if they offer to rebook us but we opt to cancel instead?

We due to go to a cottage in the UK on 3rd April. The company has offered to reschedule our dates, but we'd really rather cancel and get our money back, as it looks like our income is going to go down. Obviously they are not offering to refund us. I've looked at the faqs for our credit card and travel insurance providers - the credit card one says you only are covered if your provider doesn't offer to rebook, and the travel insurance doesn't say, and won't take questions from anyone who us not due to leave in 48 hours. Does anyone know whether we's be covered if they cancel at our request? or should we rebook and hope for the best?
