Universal credit question?

Hi I’m applying for universal credit and to prove my Identity they are asking for my card details. The long number and the 3 digits on back plus valid date etc.
All the details you use to make payments!! the bank always tells you not to give these details away.

Is this all normal for the identity Checks?

Thank you

No

Just phone up the number and make an appointment to go in for id checks

Teacaketotty · 20/03/2020 14:09

No they shouldn’t need those numbers, just the usual sort code/acc number

No, the online checks will link you to credit reference agencies/Post Office id service. If you're unsure, submit the claim without submitting any documents and you'll receive an email/text to call and make an appointment for a further evidence interview.

That sounds a little odd, asking for your card details. Bank details, yes, not card details.

What website are you on OP?

Kel55 · 20/03/2020 14:16

The universal claim sent me to a post office account for checks which asked for my passport details and then driving licence which I have done and then asking for these bank details.

It’s a post office account that the universal credit site sent me too.

So the universal credit site I’m on is

www.gov.uk

And the post office it sent me to is

www.postoffice.co.uk

Gov.ukverify it’s called

Okay.

Whixh site is asking you to enter your card details? That sounds note familiar. Often uses your card details to verify the links to see if you're registered with any of the sites.

More*

The Gov verify link should ask you which of the sites you would like to verify your id with. They're all secure sites so you should be okay. Your bank card is a form of identity.

I thought you meant that the UC site was asking for your card details. My apologies for that.
