Self Employed & Lock Down

So if the government says we have to go on lock down I am wondering what I will do money wise since I'm self employed. I can do a bit of work from home but my salary will probably drop by 90%. Will I be able to claim anything? What are your plans?

There is no statutory sick pay for sole traders. You "may" be able to claim some other benefits due to lack of income, but it depends on lots of factors and probably not for short term - you may have to cease trading and claim universal credit.

However, the Budget is tomorrow and the Govt have been making noises about support for self employed/zero hours contracts/small businesses etc., so maybe there'll be something announced tomorrow.
