from £440 a month to £65. am feeling quite despondent. how can they have overpaid us by that much since last august that it needs to be dropped by so much?! i know i was getting a good amount initially (because i have 2 kids receiving dla) but even so- £65? is it worth it?!

Bloody hell! That's a huge drop! Have you spoken to them about it? (not that it'd do any good) I didn't think they were allowed to do things like this anymore? You know, cut or stop payments altogether immediately..

its because dh started a new job in august last year so overpayments were from then. i realised it would go down but thought it would be about half. i thought that was going to be bad enough! its really really annoying because he is due promotion end of this month and pay will go up- but prob by the amount they have taken away from us so we wont feel any benefit of his hard work (sometimes 60 hrs a week) he has had to do to be promoted in first place. that extra money he was going to be earning was going to cover school fees for our second child (they cant cope with local state school and ds1 has benefited beyond belief going to private so we hoped to send ds2 there next sept). dont think thats going to happen now . i probably sound like a right spoilt cow. sorry

So why didn't they reduce them then? Didn't you tell them about the change of income?

i told them at the time over the phone but then i got the form in april or may this yr that you have to do every yr and as a result of that they reduced them.
