Is this ok or tight for food and fuel

£400 - can be stretched to £450 if necessary, for all groceries and fuel. I have 2 teen boys but only alternate weeks. Otherwise it's just me to feed. Fuel probably about £60 a month. I just need some perspective on whether this is tight or very do-able or somewhere in between. Thanks.

I would manage adequately on that amount, £340

I would cook for 4 people each evening with teen ds & put one portion into freezer for following week, when you are flying solo.

That means if you allow £20 for lunch for each week you don’t have teens you have £150 for each week you do have teens

Yeah that's a very good idea thanks!

Yes I allocate £75 for food, £25 for petrol weekly. Some weeks I go a little over on food, but really I think I could save some money on food. I’m going to start meal planning so I don’t buy things I’m not going to use
