Do I need to pay the interest on this Aqua credit card?

2 years ago I got an aqua credit card to help my bad credit. I have been paying off the interest and extra without fault.

About 6 months ago we hit hard times when neither me or DP were working. I was only able to pay the interest for a few months.

I'm now working and on a decent salary. My credit rating has gone up. I applied for a 0% 25 month balance transfer with Halifax. Accepted Smile and balance transferred from Aqua.

Previous to the balance transfer, aqua asked (as usual) if I would pay the full balance of the account or the interest. A day later Halifax transferred the full balance.

My Aqua app says I still need to pay interest of £145 on the 12th. Despite having cleared the full debt before interest is due. I've spoken to a representative online and over the phone and neither could give me an answer. One person even told me to wait until next month before paying to see if the interest was still due!

I don't want to mess up my credit rating but I don't want to pay £145 if it's not necessary!

Any advice would be much appreciated!

When you did the balance transfer from Halifax, did you tell Aqua what you were doing so they could confirm the amount due and then close the account?

You would still be getting charged interest on your balance if you were not paying it off in full each month. I would imagine that you owe the interest as you only get an interest free period if paying off the full balance each time

From the T&Cs:

Interest is calculated on a daily basis on your actual daily balance. You will not pay interest on new purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time each month. If you have not paid your balance in full in the previous month, you may receive a further interest charge in the following month even if you have paid your balance in the current month in full.
