IVA and dla

I need to apply for an iva but they take dla into account as income ? If I show that we use it all for disability related costs will it cancel that requirement out ?

Or will they tell us that counselling sessions, swimming and things like expensive foods (arfid) and taxis to appts are unecessary but they are all for the dla recipient

You put DLA and disability related costs in the financial statement and they cancel each other out.

Which debt agency are you using? They should advise.

Ok so I just detail exactly what is disability costs.
We had a dmp but it’s not working they said dla counts towards income and anything related to disability we really had to justify multiple times I know they have a job to do it just felt degrading

It’s stepchange we are currently with not sure whether to stay or try to change

You could try citizens advice - I work for them, different offices work differently but in general every office should have experience of both debt and benefits and should be more understanding.
