Earnings arrest

UserUser321 · 27/01/2020 21:01

Hi,

I had an earnings a treatment placed on my wages in March 2018 for council tax arrears. The total was just over £1150 (inc fees, charges...etc)

I noticed on my wage slip today that the deduction is still in place so I went through all my wage slips and they’ve deducted over 2 grand in total!

Has anyone got any experience of this happening to them? If so, can you advise who I contact to get the deduction stopped (my payroll dept or the company who requested the deduction?) and how I would go about claiming the money back?

And help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would speak to whoever deals with wages/payroll in your company.

Speak to the payroll company first, I don't think they've carried over the balance into the new tax year.
