Welcome to posters old and new :-)

@anxiouswaiting

If you are not doing rating work for Appen then you can do rating work for Lionbridge

The Web Search Evaluator client for Appen and Lionbridge are not the same company

GachaBread · 24/01/2020 15:12

Razor blade tasks are out on BeMyEye £6 each

girlicorne · 24/01/2020 15:25

@Whatsmyname2019 yes I did I didn’t realise I had to do it from my online banking! It’s not showing yet but it should do soon 😀

toastytea · 24/01/2020 15:33

Didn't realise there was a new thread!

So this month I've been continuing with long term task on appen.

Started using utest!

Applied for job on isoftstone. Just completed training which took HOURS. I think I failed on the last test. Very, very frustrating. It's a 3 step qualification process and very confusing. Anyone else done this?

Hoping for the banner task to start on appen soon!

Howmanysleepsnow · 24/01/2020 15:46

I’m really late to these threads, so I’m sure this has been posted before but... how can I make money quickly? Not loads, but enough for food etc? I was expecting to start my new job a month ago but things got delayed and so I now won’t be paid until the end of February rather than January as expected when I left my last job. Bills are paid, with £38 over until child benefit in a couple of weeks. I’ve tried Ziffit to sell books but only made £6 as only around 5% of what I have spare were accepted. I’ve just signed up to an online survey site but there’s no surveys available. I’m too much of a coward for matched betting and can’t spare anything to bet! I could sell old kids bikes online, but no idea which sites are best. Any advice/ other ideas?

Yugi · 24/01/2020 16:00

For whoever asked about bank accounts for MB. I signed up to Starling, app based and recommended on money saving expert. Approved quickly, card arrived two days later and no problems so far.

Lougle · 24/01/2020 16:06

Has anyone tried Shepper? I'm quite rural, so might not get much in my area.

SimplyBlue · 24/01/2020 16:21

@Howmanysleepsnow

Things that have worked most quickly for me:
Qmee (i have the app on my mobile and do surveys. No min payout. Have made £30 in approx 1 month)

Prolific - on my laptop doing like academic surveys. Made approx £15 in total so far but only do these on days I'm at home all day with laptop open

Streetbees - only £4 so far but haven't had this for long and they pay fairly quickly to PayPal each time a "story" is approved. £1-£3 a story seems to be about average. Took a couple of days before paid stuff came through on mine.

Flossie2020 · 24/01/2020 16:22

Following the discussion on earnings on Crisp with interest, I have been earning well from it but I am not sure how sustainable it is long term. Can I ask other Crisp users how often you have been messaged about mistakes?

anxiouswaiting · 24/01/2020 16:22

Been approved for the BRY* TA on Appen. Anyone else? Pay per task is low, wondering of the tasks are super simple or of its a time waster? Won't get a chance to try it till later when son is in bed.

Thank you @themoneyshed I will sign up for Lionbridge then and see if they offer me anything.

SimplyBlue · 24/01/2020 16:25

Oh prolific does have a minimum cash out of £5 if I remember correctly, and it took a few days for the money to come through on that. Qmee is instant and the best ime.

If you can get about for mystery shopping type tasks, a lot on these threads use BeMyEye and Roamler. I personally have not experienced getting paid with these so not sure how quick they are to pay.

BertieBotts · 24/01/2020 16:26

BeMyEye I've got money within 2 days. Some are quite low paying though, but if you can get around without incurring loads in transport costs that seems worth it.

Don't forget food banks too. In some areas you need a referral - HV can do it. Your situation is exactly the kind of thing they are meant for, to keep you ticking over :)

SimplyBlue · 24/01/2020 16:28

@Howmanysleepsnow sorry to @ you again lol but forgot to say, my most luck with selling has been with shpock (mobile app) and with a site called Preloved. Have tried eBay and found it useless. I think Facebook selling pages can be quite good too depending on your area

justtheonethen · 24/01/2020 16:41

@Flossie2020 once since April for me. I have messaged them twice when I've known I've made a mistake though.

BertieBotts · 24/01/2020 16:47

I say 2 days - it's available for paypal as soon as it's approved, but being approved can take a couple of days, especially if they ask you to redo something.

Actually I've just gone to do my second payout, and it is saying I need to wait until Wednesday to cash out, so it might be there's a limit on how often you can do it per week or something.

BertieBotts · 24/01/2020 17:19

Also small win for me - went to Aldi to do a "cheap" food shop, found a mattress which would fit DS1's bed at about 40% below the price I was planning to spend on one (he really, really needs a new one badly) so ended up spending €140 instead of the €50ish I was hoping (but not at all expecting) it to cost.

Got home - checked budget - eek that's going to send me over my overdraft. But! I was able to empty my paypal of all the money I've been stashing in there and it covered the discrepancy exactly. Wouldn't have had that without this thread - thank you :)

Lougle · 24/01/2020 17:28

I've had an email to say that I've qualified for a job in Appen and can work it, but I don't know how to access the work?

MoreMoneyPlease · 24/01/2020 17:38

I've been accepted for the voice job on u test. I cannot see where to find the actual task when I click on the job under projects. Is it really obvious and I just can't see it??

Lougle · 24/01/2020 17:48

Hmm ok, so actually it seems the project isn't ready yet, despite an email saying I can work it. Appen seems a bit frustrating right now, but I'm sure it will be ok...

I've had mixed findings at UTest. I did an academy challenge cycle and found 21 bugs, 17 of which were accepted. No money, of course, but it is all experience.

I had a test cycle which I was going to accept but then couldn't figure out the configuration and my mobile wasn't in the best state, so declined it. I had another test case that I accepted, but it was so complicated and the window was so short that I asked to be released from it. I was offered a third test case, but my computer was too old. Overall, I think I have to recognise that after just under 3 weeks it's no surprise that it's still a lot to learn.

Prolific is up to £7.30, but is going slowly.

UserTesting is SO funny. I get screened out of everything.

I'm still pleased, though, and I'm exploring the forum and articles, so oeverall positive.

Lougle · 24/01/2020 17:50

@MoreMoneyPlease what stage are you at? If you have just been invited to the first stage (signing up and qualifying), then you have to wait for the actual invite to provide sounds. Either way, if you click 'Home' you'll see a dashboard with 'Projects' and 'Invitations'. That might clear it up.

Sorry to be so vague, but having signed a NDA, I don't want to violate it.

BlackCatFan · 24/01/2020 18:30

@Flossie2020 I've been messaged about mistakes maybe twice in the 7 months I've been doing it

Osquito · 24/01/2020 18:44

Hi all! Just thought I’d re-mention a survey site that I personally think is worth a sign up for some: Pinecone Research.

Cons: You only receive invites to surveys they match to you, redemption is buying random products from their catalogue, or certain e-gift cards (Amazon for example) or online prepaid card (which I chose), and the surveys haven’t been as constant as some of these I’ve read on here BUT...
Pros: Surveys are short (10-15’ max), I haven’t been vetted out of any after spending time on questions, and it seems to be £3 for each one (appears on your account next day). I only joined end of Nov and got £15 in Dec, which I redeemed as a prepaid e-MasterCard thing and used for online shopping.

So it’s nowhere near a side-hustle, but I find it less stressful than Prolif etc, and I think I’ll use it to build up a little pot.

Whatsmyname2019 · 24/01/2020 19:02

@girlicorne fabulous, good luck! Is everyone doing Neevo tasks I can’t get it to load, bet there’s none left by time I get on lol

ZetaPuppis · 24/01/2020 19:14

I’m trying to load those tasks too!

Bemystarlord · 24/01/2020 19:22

@CatHopeful i feel exactly the same, i really enjoy the work but it would be nice to be able to chat about itwith someone or just to bounce ideas or say double check especially when theres a new media event and lots of work relating to it.
