Insurance for an art collection

We're looking for an insurance policy which will cover a high proportion of high risk items like watches/jewellery/art so whilst the policy might cover £150k which would be more than sufficient, since the high risk items are over £30k (because of the artwork we have) the policy wouldn't cover us.

We've looked around and anywhere that would cover us is hundreds of pounds more expensive (£1100 compared to £500 per annum).

Does anyone know of a company which covers a higher percentage of high risk items or a decently priced standalone policy for artwork?

£500 sounds like you have shopped around well. Is £1100 that bad? I think we pay 500ish for less valuable content.

To be honest, the £500 was a complete fluke find - it's a Legal and General policy and would be great normally. Before we had the current policy which has a renewal this year of £1100, we had been looking at quotes for the last couple of years of around £1500 from other companies.

We're only looking around now because the renewal is up by 15% on last year, however, knowing this Legal and General policy exists makes me wonder what else is out there - and if I can save a few hundred pounds, I'd like to.
