It's appalling how loyalty is punished in this industry.
Been with the former insurance company for 20 years.
Asked them to review how much we pay. Asked them to note the locks, serviced alarm etc (stuff that's supposed to make a difference) and that they left off the details on the renewal quote. Did a new quote with the exact same company as a "new customer" and got quoted less than half what our renewal would be.
Phoned and pointed this out. Was treated very rudely and eventually got offered £30 off as a goodwill gesture or £50 vouchers (that I'd never use).

Have now got equivalent insurance with a different company for £350 LESS. Phew!

As I said it is appalling how loyalty is punished.

It's with everything and so tedious have to ring them to cancel, and they can never explain why the price is increasing so much.

Cant believe you stayed with the same one for 20 years! I change most years. Currently with direct line

I go through Topcashback on a comparison site and do this every year with house and both our car insurances. I got over £400 pounds on Topcashback last year by doing stuff like that also doing same with utility companys.

I agree with you, but remember the person on the other end of the phone doesn't set the prices. They don't know why the price has went up as it's based on underwriting and pricing algorithms.

I done a placement as part of my grad scheme in a car insurance renewal call centre and it was very tedious getting asked why prices had went up and getting dogs abuse when it had nothing to do with me.
