Euro to Sterling transfer

Wondering if anyone could help please?

I have a company in the UK which has an amount in a euro bank account and I need to transfer it to a sterling account with the same UK bank (around e30k)- what's the cheapest way to do this?

Alternatively, I could transfer the euros directly to a personal bank account (sterling) using paypal - would that be cheaper?

thanks for your help - I am getting completely bogged down in exchange rates/fees etc.

Transferring it to your personal account would be foolish.

I would approach your business banking manager.

That's a lot of money and you will probably lose out on the exchange rate if you use the banks transfer system. The banks exchange rate are not competitive.
We use a company in London. They quote us an exchange rate. We pay them the money in the currency. They pay the sterling equivalent into our sterling account. Works out we get more sterling then if we went to the bank. They do same day.

If you can wait until Monday I can get you the name of the company we use and pm you. I can't think what the name of it is as at home and work brain switches off!

Transferwise give better rates than the banks.

I use a couple of currency places in London also, Moneycorp and Fairfx. You call them and get a rate and if you think it’s ok, transfer the currency to them and they’ll transfer your sterling back to you. You could keep an eye on the rates if there’s a chance they’ll go in your favour if you wait.
