DH has £1k on credit cards

DH the other day showed me his banking app where all his online accounts are.
I don’t think he realised but I saw his credit card balance which was at just shy of £1k.

I didn’t mention it at the time as it’s Christmas and didn’t want him to feel bad.

Is this something I should be concerned of?

Why is he only paying £150 a month to his CC when he earns £37k? Why not clear it in full?

What a remarkably stupid comment.

You realise that what he earns has absolutely no relevance to how much spare cash he has at the end of each month when you and I know nothing about his outgoings?

I used to earn about three times that but my ex ewife was a serial spender (especially of my money) no way could I put my hands on £1000 - it was all gone on pay day on mortgage, car loans, obscene gas bills, holiday etc.

It would worry me too, I hate debt and would have to clear the card before I could rest again.

A bit of a harsh remark as that question goes to the heart of whether the OP should be concerned.

If he can pay it off in one go - why hasn't he? If he can't - then there could be consequences for the family finances.
