Random payment from DWP

Today I logged into my online banking, and DWP have put money into my account that I wasn’t expecting- an amount of £231.67. We aren’t due our Universal Credit payment for another few days and it wasn’t the same amount as we are due. We had our second child in October, but were already claiming for that before today. Any idea what it could be?

When did the payment go in?

What is the information given? Does it not specify UC/something else? It usually does

Have you logged on to your HMRC account to check?

abimumoftwo · 26/12/2019 17:59

It says DWP GP FP LP FUNDING and went in on 21st December

That's a manual 'Fast Payment' rather then standard 'bass'

Have you been waiting or challenging a decision for esa/DLA?

eveshopper · 26/12/2019 18:10

bacs not bass.

Whatever the payment is the decision was made the same day of payment.

Haven’t been waiting for any kind of decision! I was made redundant but am on maternity leave still so not challenging any payment etc.

December 21st isn't one of the Christmas'early' payment dates so if you are not waiting for any decisions then it seems likely that it's an extra payment.
