Nationwide mortgage holiday for maternity leave

I will be going on maternity leave shortly and am the main earner.

On SMP I won’t be able to afford to stay at home so will need to return to work after 6 weeks.

Has anyone in a similar situation had a mortgage holiday with nationwide?

I feel that having 6 months break would allow me or DH to stay off for 6 months which would be better than 6 weeks

Are you eligible for a mortgage holiday? They're a bit retro credit crunch era.

After speaking to them no, I’m not eligible

Damn it

Could you extend the term to reduce the payment?

Has your husband checked if he's eligible for any enhanced pay for shared parental leave?

Could you take the 6 weeks SMP and then take annual leave?

We took a mortgage holiday while I was on maternity leave, but it was only 1 month not 6 (3 years ago)

Worth looking into shared Parental Leave with your DH
