Bank screwed up and lost my money for 3 mths - what should I expect them to do about it?

Briefly

Paid Lloyds credit card via online payment (16/5) from my bank (nameless atm), but apparently I cocked up the number.

Lloyds sent a chq back to my bank(21/5) with my a/c number and so forth, wrote to me, I paid again via debit card, all ok.

My bank write to me (27/5)to tell me they have the dosh and it will be credited shortly ( it never was)

So complaint first raised 01/06

am told to ask lloyds for copy of chq, did sent to my bank.

Money finally returned yesterday 21/8

Chap from complaints leaves msg that money is back.

Now as this left me in overdraft am I within my rights to ask for recompense?
