Virgin money pay day

salviapurplerain · 23/11/2019 14:57

My oh has recently started working for Virgin money. He then told me he will not be getting paid this month as he didn’t meet the cutoff date and that his first salary will be the end of December. While it’s not unheard of that if you start a new job towards the end of the month you might miss that month’s pay day, my oh started before the middle of the month so seems a bit odd. I think he is lying and wanting to spend all his pay on himself. I know it’s a long shot but am aibu to ask if anyone works for virgin money and if they know what this cut off date is please?

I don't work for Virgin money but I do know that in the organisation I work for payroll cutoff is the 7th of the month. Payroll can cope with anyone starting up to the 10th of the month but not after that.

Clearly not a healthy relationship if you have this level of mistrust

Dazedandconfused10 · 23/11/2019 17:02

It's likely true. Payroll cut offs vary and if he started late so be it. If it's a larger organisation they're not going to run individual payments for all the late joiners.

At my organisation normal pay date is the 20th but late joiners are paid on the last day of the month, pro-rata

Whatever the outcome, the very fact you suspect this of your partner speaks volumes about how utterly shite this relationship is.

Thanks everyone for your responses. X
