30 hours childcare and tax credits

Just trying to apply for the 30 hours childcare. During the application (online) it said that our tax credits will go down if we apply for 30 hours childcare and asked if I wanted to continue with the application.
I wasn’t aware it affected tax credits. We don’t claim any childcare costs on our tax credits, does it still impact on the amount of tax credits we receive?

I’m pretty sure it’s only the childcare component of the tax credits that will be affected because you’d be paying less in childcare. You could always put your numbers into this calculator to get an idea www.entitledto.co.uk/
