Shopping accounts when unemployed

Does anyone know of any shopping accounts/store cards you can get when unemployed? I know Argos doesn’t allow it but does anyone know anywhere that does? I am a carer for 2 of my disabled children so not working because of that. I use my sisters Argos card but would prefer to have something I can use myself.

I wouldn’t have thought so because it’s credit so they are obliged to check your affordability.

That’s a shame, I use clear pay who don’t credit check and have always paid it off without a problem but the shops are very limited so was hoping there was something else out there!

I’m a carer and I have had an Argos card for years. I have never lied to get credit so they must have allowed it at some point. My husband is in full time employment though so not sure if that makes a difference.
You could always try for an interest free credit card instead as some companies do offer them to carers, albeit with a low credit amount to start with. I know the interest free period won’t be forever but it might be long enough for what you need and will help to build your credit score.
