How much is your gas/electric bill?

We've just moved. British Gas set up a DD of £108 a month (seemed reasonable)

Just gave readings and received a bill which says we are massively in debit. Just this last month alone our electric bill was £80 and our gas £100!!!

We have brand new central heating which is supposed to be efficient.

Just wondering if the halogens bulbs we have everywhere are costly?!

Obviously I will be telling the entire family to cut down on time in the shower (gas cost) and will be notching down the thermostat.

Seriously tho! £180 a MONTH?!

We pay £88 a month for gas and electric, and we're always in credit, so the actual bills must be lower than that (still in our first year with current supplier so waiting to see how things balance out over the winter).

We did pay more when we were with British Gas.

My last bill was £140 - 3 bed house, me and two teens. I work from home a lot so heating is on frequently.

Sorry, I didn't give any details about our house. 3 bedrooms, detached property. Me, DH and teen dd. DH generally works from home so is around in the day. DD has the most ridiculously long showers.Hmm

We're with octopus energy now.

Since going on maternity leave in May our gas and electricity has gone up from £38 to £52 a month. But that was the winter increase in October, our last statement was in credit, so I'm going to let it continue into next year and ask for a cheque for our credit and take a bit of unpaid maternity leave.

Sorry, I just realise I talked cost and situation, but missed details
2 bed mid terrace, British Gas are our supplier too.

£125 a month combined, 5 bed house

We are with octopus energy. We were paying £131 a month but after our recent meter readings its gone up to £159 a month.

We live in a fairly large 5 bed house but but Is a semi. There are 5 of us and 4 of us shower at least once a day sometimes twice. I am constantly doing washing as DH and I regularly exercise and the children do loads of sports at the weekends.

We are with Bulb and pay roughly £100 a month for both.

Family of 4 in a 4 bed terrace.
