Knowledge about UC

hey, not sure who can help or advise.

I have been on UC for 4 months now due to not being able to find work whilst pregnant. My DM has just loaned me £6500, to pay off any and all debt that I had and then I am making the repayments to her with my UC. I just had a thought, she transferred me the money into my same account the UC goes into and I’m worrying that UC will see this and not give me my payment this month! the money is all gone now as i have paid off credit cards and student overdraft. Can anyone advise whether they will sanction my payment this month?🥺

I don't think they see what goes in and out of your bank account. They track earned income if you're employed but that's reported by your employer.

Even if they are aware of it the worst that could happen is that you'd lose something like £8 of your Uc as savings up to 6k do not affect UC anyway.

They won’t see it but you should officially declare it to them as it’s over the savings limit which should reduce your universal credit and it could be seen as deprivation of assets by using it to pay for debt. Next time make sure that if anyone is giving you money that They pay for things directly rather that it going through your account.
