Does anyone use the Open Bank functionality?

I’m currently banking with NatWest but I want to switch my sole current account to HSBC to take advantage of their better rate regular savings account. However I will be keeping my joint current account with NatWest and I have a Savings Builder (and potentially a joint savings builder soon) with them as well as my DH credit card.

NatWest app says you can add accounts with other banks, does anyone have any experience with this? I’d love to be able to switch but still see all my accounts in one place.

Would like to hear experiences please! Smile Thanks!

I use open banking. Love it. Every penny is accounted for. I learned not to go to IKEA too often and that glasses cost for 4 people with Ultra Thin Lenses need their own budget. I use MoneyDashboard app. I was good with money anyway but open banking does for money same as smart meters do for energy.

good analogy. Immature technology that fails, vulnerable to hacking, makes no difference to your actual spend and has no consumer benefit.

everyone should have two bank accounts with providers with different banking licences and underlying systems. There are so many failures that this is an essential precaution, plus having some cash to hand. But whatever you do don't link them up!
