No if you live with your partner their wage is taken into account as you are a couple. You can live with someone and be classed as single.

MiltonRoad · 28/10/2019 00:04

*can’t

OneHanded · 28/10/2019 00:13

I thought it has to be under 16 hours a week too?

Babyroobs · 28/10/2019 00:24

If you live with your partner then you will need to have a joint claim. It's unlikely you will qualify for UC unless you have a very high rent.

ferrier · 28/10/2019 00:37

Hours don't matter under UC.
But you would have to make a joint claim unless you can prove you are not a couple (unlikely given what you've told us).

KeepYourCup · 28/10/2019 00:39

You can't disregard his income if you live together.

If your new job is only 28 hours and that's not enough for you to live on how come your first thought isn't how can I increase my hours, perhaps with a second part time job?

sheard · 28/10/2019 21:59
