Our mortgage deal is soon coming to an end so we compared several online and found a good one with virgin money. The initial pre eligibility check was accepted and even said they would lend us much much more ( but we don’t want to). We filled in the application for decision in principle and after 2 minutes, it said the application has been referred and a decision will be given within 48hrs . We have never missed a payment and have 52% equity in our home. Is this a bad sign? I’m worrying now and how it might affect another application if this one is turned down.
