HMRC Scam

Hi
Warning for people. My husband today received a letter purporting to be from the HMRC quoting part of his NI number stating that he was due a refund of tax and to log on line to claim it. This is a scam - he has not worked for the period of time they specify in the letter i.e. 2018 - 2019. He retired in 2015 so cannot be due anything. He rang me and I told him not to log in to a fake website which would no doubt ask for your bank details. Just to make everyone aware!

I keep constantly getting calls from the ‘HMRC’ telling me that there is a warrant out for my arrest as I owe money 🤦‍♀️ Sometimes they call three times a day, I just think it’s funny now!

Every bank should have provided details about this scam by now. Go to Action Fraud for more details.
