Loan taken out without my knowledge...

My ex partner too out a loan in my name by just ticking a box online, the payments were originally taken from their personal account so I had no knowledge. Now they have stopped paying and they are chasing me for the money, it's been referred to their fraud team anyone else has this experience?

Which loan company was this ? That seems about odd that he was able to if I'm honest. Has he had access to your identification etc?

The last loan I had was one just online no signature needed. It'd be really easy to set up in someone else's and if you know all their details.

Report it to the police.

Yes it was a loan through a bank we both had accounts with, they knew all my personal details so easy to do I suppose, the evidence they sent me was paperwork with just a tick no signature, it's reported to their fraud team.

If it's in your name it will be being paid out of an account in your name too. So either theloan isn't in your name, or is a joint loan being paid for from a joint account.

Oh, and the money would have been paid into the same account.

It is possible in theory as DH works away a lot and I did sort a loan out for him online (at his request) BUT the money had to go into an account with his name on (joint account) and they payments also had to come out if an account with his name on.
I don’t see how it could be in your sole name and get paid into an account just in his name.
