Universal credit put a note on my partners journal today saying we owe you backdated housing benefit we will pay it in today, its been paid in but the reference on my bank statement is National insurance number followed by DWP PIP
My partner put in a PIP claim but was turned down he has also recently had a work based assessment from universal credit just a bit confused by the reference and wondered if anyone knew about DWP payment references thanks

PIP, ESA & DLA are usually NI number DWP & benefit.

Universal Credit is just NI number.

I'm a corporate Appointee & have a variety of benefits to allocate to clients & sometimes wish the references were better.

Just confused as it says on his journal that it's a housing payment but has a pip reference baffled lol

I'd give them a call to query the payment reference if you're worried but if the amounts match up it's likely a mistake on their end with the referencing.
