Tesco

It is rumoured (Martin Lewis) that Tesco are going to charge for their loyalty card. If one does all one's shopping there the charge will be covered by points. However, it will mean being committed to them to spend enough to earn points.

Does anyone think this is a wise move considering the battle between supermarkets for trade? I shall cut out Tesco and use Sainsbury (unless they follow suit) and use Morrison's, Aldi, Lidl, etc.

I don’t understand how this will work?!

AnneKipanki · 09/10/2019 17:48

This sounds very strange. I have stopped using my M and S card ( Sparks ) as I just could not be bothered anymore. All those emails....
I hardly shop there now anyway.
All these shops use these cards to "monitor " what you are buying so it is in their interest for us to use these cards . I do not think I will consider paying for one .
They are also trying to copy other supermarkets .

AnneKipanki · 09/10/2019 17:49

I do not think it is wise .

Redglitter · 09/10/2019 17:52

I wouldnt pay for one but it wouldnt stop me shopping at Tesco. I do all my grocery shopping with them online. The loyalty card is a nice bonus but it's not why I shop with them

Redglitter · 09/10/2019 17:55

Have just googled this. The charge is for Clubcard PLUS not the regular one. It's a new thing they're starting. Its totally different to the current one 🙄

AnneKipanki · 09/10/2019 18:01

Ok @Redglitter
Thanks!

Redglitter, Thank you.

7.99 a month gives you 10% off 2 big shops a month. That's not enough for me. I tend to do quite a few shops roundabout £45-55 each time.

hormonesorDHbeingadick · 09/10/2019 21:35

Max of 10% of 2 shops a month up to the cost of £200. And tesco tends to be more expensive.

I currently thinking of changing to Asda for delivery.
