Anybody used Digidentity when applying for UC?

Hi all,

After an evening of palava applying for UC, I have finally got my documents verified with a company called Digidentity (one of the governments approved ID services).

It says my documents have been verified. However the company is performing a 'manual check' as well. It says that the average time for this to complete is 34 minutes and it can only be done during service desk opening hours.

The website is no help. Do I need to call the service desk?? Or how will I know the checks have completed? I'm completely fucked off with this new system to be honest.

Once you apply for UC, you will receive an appointment to go to job centre to verify your identity

You need to take the original documents to the job centre

Some people can verify online. I help a lot of people to apply for UC but have never managed to get the online verification to work. I usually end up making them an appointment at the job centre to do ID checks.

I got the damn thing to work eventually. It was so convoluted. I can understand why UC is a pain for a lot of people
