Child Trust Fund

We have a stocks and shares Child Trust Fund for our daughter who is now aged 11. It was originally taken out with The Childrens Mutual who transferred it to Forester Life a few years ago. The performance of it, last year was 1.1% compared to 6.9% the year before. The current balance is around £4k.

Due to the age of my child and that the trust fund has not been doing very well and the future looks a bit uncertain in the UK, I am wondering about transferring it to a Junior Cash ISA.

Any advice? What have others done who have these accounts?

Yes, transferred both my DC trust funds to junior cash ISA's.

How do you find out where it's held? Dad had one of these but my ex dealt with it and we aren't on speaking terms. I worry he's accessed it actually.

@dancemom the funds can only be withdrawn when the child reaches 18 and then only by the child. You can fund the provider through Gov.uk I believe. They also should send an annual statement to the registered contact.
