this is not an 'i am skint, please all give me money post' before any one starts, this is just pone asking for some basic advice.

have been pottling along nicely for a while, bills all paid upto date etc, and we were managing fine. but with dh in hospital and petrol costs etc, things are getting a little tighter, but still ok-ish.

i have a big loan finishing in 2 weeks time. which will free up a couple of hundred a month. but dh money is going down a couple of hundred a month, so we wil lbe in the same place iyswim.

do we consider another loan to take care of all the dribs and drabs, overdraft etc, and just have one payment a month from one other account. clear the credit card and dee freeze for emergencies only (or hand over to someone else, i dont know the pin so cant be used in shops anyway) or just try and cope and pull belt in another notch. i am worried by the prospect pof owing the bank more money for longer, as the last loan has been such a drag, and was looking forward to clearing that one and yelling yippee!

also we may need a loan again in 6months to buy a car (current car is mobility vechile which will have to go bacl once dh is transplanted) so i think we need to try and clear stuff ourselves before that point.

oh my head ois so confused and mentally i am going arrrrrrrrgh.

like i said, we arent struggling, just a little tighter than normal.

well i think you should try to hang on - that way you aren't paying interest which you would be doing on any sort of loan

you are having a bloody rough time of it so not surprised you are confused

Are you getting everything you are entitiled to with dh's health?I would steer clear of the loan if you can but understand all the money it costs being ill!

yup getting everything we can. next week can apply for some costs back for travelling through the social fund (about £70 a month whihc is better than a kick in the teeth). his DLA care stops soon as he will have been in hospital for over 4 weeks, which is over £250 a month down. fortunatly they dont stop the mobility part as that is paying for the car.

i am selling stuff as i go to help out a bit, so do look out for my for sale threads lol.
