Encouraging saving in teens

DC get a small allowance each month which they manage reasonably well but spend every last penny. I would like to encourage them to save a small amount and am wondering what incentives I could use?

Maybe match what they've saved on an annual/bi-annual basis?

How old are DC?
That sounds like a great idea.
Even showing them if you save £X you will have £X in a years time. That would have been enough to motivate teenage me, because I had never thought about saving as long term goals before.

Also, suggest things they could use saving for... Cars, insurance, holidays, festivals (age depending, of course)
