PPI and being pestered by claims companies

Sorry if another thread on this but can not find one just now. I just received a call from a company who phoned me several weeks ago and I was caught in a weak moment so agreed to being sent a claim pack as "time quickly running out" but when this pack arrived it was such a pain in the neck to delve into as many of the questions on it were unanswerable and I decided to abort the claim altogether.

I am fairly certain I never did sign up to anything which would result in a claim back and my bank has confirmed to me that they have no record of anything either.

This company have just called me again and said I have been sent the pack so why am I not acting on it (they want a percentage of course of any resultant pay out ) and I simply told them I have changed my mind.

The smarmy woman in the call centre was not giving up so I said goodbye and cut the call.

Just having a little rant there but has anyone else been plagued by these callers and actually taken them up on their offer of "help" ?

They are scum.
If you have a right to claim do it using the letters on Money saving expert, do not hand the parasites 40% of what you might be owed.

Next time they call tell them you have died.
Tell them that you are ghost
Tell them that they are hallucinating.

They will take you off their phone list.

Loved that response! I am annoyed with myself for letting them talk me into making a claim. Am usually much more assertive and SENSIBLE.

I could always use their claim pack paper for lining the cat litter tray I suppose. I won't be caught again as I know their number now and will ignore any further attempts to call me.

Glad I made you smile.

They just want part of your money.
Its like the accident claims people "where you were not at fault"
Yes, I died, it really hurt
gets you off their lists PDQ

same with any finance company
"Are you the householder?"
No, I'm the bailiff, can I help?

I'm phoning about your windows

  • try to work out which they are and then reply with either
they are covered in bird poo, could you wash them or I use Lunix it has a penguin same result

Have a good weekend Grin
