Blocking a payment

Hello, hoping someone can help.

If I request that my bank blocks any future payment requests from a particular company...
A) is that possible?
B) can they use another account to try to take payment (as obviously they have my bank details)?

I won't go into too much detail but I am in dispute over owed money which I strongly feel I do not owe and am being treated unfairly. I have expressed this in writing to them.

Final question, do you think i'm likely to be taken to a small claims court for a value of less than £200?

Thank in advance.

I think that the only way that a Company can take money from your account would be via direct debit or a CPA (continuous payment authority) - both of which you can cancel with your bank. If you cancel them, there should be no way for them to take any money.

Just having your bank details is not enough for them to access your account.
