Universal Credit, amongst other things

I'll try to keep it as brief as I can:

My partner left (domestic violence. People are aware, but I didn't report it yet).

I know I have to claim UC now. I know.the basic procedure. I'd just like a bit of a timeline I guess?

I'm away next week (preplanned) and on the Monday after the Friday I come back, I'm due a tax credits payment. I'll call the DWP on the Monday to get the ball rolling.

What will happen?

A few things:

I get PIP (enhanced both)
I have two DC
I can't find any of their ID, or my PIP award letter. That'll be STBXH hiding things- he has form.

STBXH won't shift his butt to get his wages moved from my account! He'll do it "when he has time" 😡. Will they think this is money I've earned?

It would be best to separate finances if at all possible. You wont need your PIP award letter to claim UC as PIP doesn't really affect UC. You will need their birth certificates and tenancy agreement if in private rented accommodation. It will be around 5 weeks until your first Uc payment but you can apply for an advance payment to tide you over. tax credits will stop as soon as you make the UC claim. You will also need ID documents for yourself- passport/ driving license/ bank card . Three I think.
