Universal Credit - Childcare Element

Is anybody able to tell me if the childcare only element has a salary limit for eligibility?

I'm very likely to be separating from my husband soon. I earn quite a good wage but have very high childcare costs. I would not be able to cover this alone. I have filled in all of the available online benefit calculators and they all say that I would get help towards my childcare costs. I'm sceptical though as I think I probably earn too much.

Does anybody have any insight?

Join the group on Facebook called Universal Credit Survival. The admins on there are incredibly knowledgeable of the ins and outs of UC and can do calculations for you which are extremely accurate. I found them very helpful when we went on to UC.

The childcare element is paid as just another element of Uc along with any other elements you are entitled to . Then wages reduce the whole award. So really whether you get any help depends on lots of things, your age, number of children you have and when they were born, your rent if you pay rent etc as well as the amount of childcare you pay.
