6 months in and still going strong! It's the July earn £10 a day thread!

Let's try not to fill this one up too quickly Grin

I think everyone had an absolutely smashing month in June, with lots of luck thrown in at the end of it for good measure. I think we're all proving it's possible you can earn £10 a day from the comfort of your own sofa.

I'll pop together an updated list of earning methods later, I haven't had coffee yet Grin

All new joiners are welcome Smile

Ahh, thank you Floof
I will have a look at it properly.

ChubRubTub · 15/07/2019 00:26

Do you need experience as a search engine evaluator to be accepted for Appen?

It has it listed as a specific question on the application, so I haven't bothered applying as I assume they want it.

Elllicam · 15/07/2019 03:27

I didn’t have any experience but was approved.

Otterses · 15/07/2019 06:31

@ChubRubTub

I think they prefer no experience, they're a bit funny if you've done it in the past for competitors. Like Lionbridge reject ex-Appen evaluators.

Oh thanks both, that's great to know! Lucky that my lack of experience in anything is finally an advantage Smile

I had written that off, but will apply now.

0hmygoodness · 15/07/2019 08:28

@WheelyCote I applied back at the start of May and nothing here either. I wonder if i should apply with a different email and get 2 applications going.
I am quite concerned that I'm going to fail the test anyway - would be typical after this long wait!

@Bemystarlord I am doing 509 but I don't think they keep you updated anywhere. I'm just trying to keep a tally of batches done. I seem to remember reading that they pay every 2 weeks. Probably straight to paypal as it from the appen microtasks site. That is what happened with the speaking / transcribing task.

Is anyone else doing the Snap / song lyric task from clickworker? Not amazing pay but I quite like it Grin

Thank everyone for all the info. I am not doing masses yet but am definitely earning more than I was 8 weeks ago!

Bemystarlord · 15/07/2019 09:22

@0hmygoodness than you, This is the first appen global i’ve done so wasn't sure. The transcribing ones i did were with The main Appen and were paid monthly. Have kept a track so hopefully will be ok. They did ask me to set up payment when i first started and i did payoneer. Just didn’t want to miss making an invoice if we were supposed to :)

whatthewhatthewhat · 15/07/2019 09:22

Any crispies make it out of training? Still haven't heard, scared to ask! 🤣

Otterses · 15/07/2019 09:38

@ChubRubTub

The worst thing that can happen is they say no! Apply for everything Grin

I have not heard anything from Crisp - but I am now getting slightly different options when I am doing the monitoring data. It all seems a bit silly to be honest - what is the point of spending 10 days doing training without feedback!

I have also sent all the documents off for Cloudworkers. I am not terribly impressed to date as they sent a long email telling me my grammar and English should be perfect - and then send the most confusing explanation of what should be filled in, with a document giving instructions that are completely unclear. I have more or less given up and just completed what I think they want and sent it off.

I am not convinced that I will actually go forward with this, but am so worried about Crisp that I need to have a back up!

CatHopeful · 15/07/2019 11:22

m00rfarm following your comment above, I've jsut logged on (can't do a session right now but was curious), and yes, I have slightly different options too. It's so odd - am I meant to be using different criteria now - that I haven't been told about - to answer the slightly different question?? I'm going to have to email later I think.

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 15/07/2019 11:26

@m00rfarm I noticed that. I've been ill in bed all weekend but logged on yesterday and noticed different options on the monitoring. I only did ten minutes. It's crazy not knowing whether you are doing things properly isn't it?
I went to fill in everything for Cloudworkers but I don't like the fact that they want fixed shifts and a certain number of hours and that they want advance notice for days off. It might be a bit restrictive so I'm not sure whether to complete the application now.

m00rfarm · 15/07/2019 11:29

@SorryDidISayThatOutLoud - I have decided to complete the registration and if it proves too difficult to work to the set times, then they will just have to shoot me ...

MrsGaryLightbody · 15/07/2019 11:35

@anxiouswaiting many thanks, was literally looking at swapping this morning! Done . Smile

ElasticFirecracker · 15/07/2019 12:29

Thank you @reddA That list was just what I needed.

I have looked at Crisp and they want to know my date of birth.

Two questions about this:

  1. I always try to avoid giving my real date of birth online, is it important to give your actual date of birth?
  1. Are they looking for people in certain age brackets, I am concerned that I may be considered too old.

Thanks in advance.

ElasticFirecracker · 15/07/2019 12:40

Further to previous message, I've just seen that they do a criminal background check, so I suppose I should give my real age.

MrsGaryLightbody · 15/07/2019 13:19

Any clickworker update their app? Then can't blinking use it !!

m00rfarm · 15/07/2019 14:19

I’m live on crisp!! Passed the training 😊😊😊😊

anxiouswaiting · 15/07/2019 14:29

@ElasticFirecracker they ask for ID when you get selected so you would need to use your real dob. I can't see why your age would be an issue.

@MrsGaryLightbody Thanks! I hope you manage to make good savings like we have, we are saving about £35 a month with them so are really happy.

Just had an email saying I am now working on live data for Crisp so assume I have been doing the training week stuff right as there has been no feedback about doing anything wrong. Hope others who have been waiting to go live get some good news today too.

BlackCatFan · 15/07/2019 14:29

@m00rfarm I've been moved to the live queue on Crisp too! Bit nervous, excited though!

CatHopeful · 15/07/2019 14:33

Good news here too from Crisp - I've moved to live work too! I assume that means all the work I did on the training data was fine, I've had no feedback whatsoever. Well done everyone!

BlackCatFan · 15/07/2019 14:36

Still no Klipfolio Dashboard though 🤔 maybe we'll get that shortly

CatHopeful · 15/07/2019 14:47

I have asked about that and apparently they're still being processed. I was hoping for it to be up and running in time for live queue work, and I even thought the two might coincide. I do find it frustrating not knowing how much time I need to put in to hit certain targets. I had always assumed that the surges didn't apply to training data, but now we've moved to live work I'm hoping that will make it more profitable.

m00rfarm · 15/07/2019 14:55

I would just like to thank everyone on this thread - although my income so far is just over £4 (for a tiny amount of Crisp work), the potential to make a difference to my life is huge :)
