DLA/Foster Care/Respite

My 8 yr old Foster Son is going into respite for 15 nights.

The agency can't find a Carer so have had to go to another agency.

The new agency wants me to provide them with DS DLA money whilst I am away, and they will still be getting their money from the agency for looking after him.

I usually budget this money for additional clothing and for August when respite is taking place, buy additional school uniform for September.

Do I HAVE to pass this money over to the respite Carer...?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

No! I am shocked they have asked.

Isn’t it the responsibility of your foster agency to sort out the financial details?

They want me to get paid from GOV his DLA and then me to pay the DLA to the new Carer despite getting their allowance.

I do not get any money whilst he is in respite from my agency despite still having to pay electricity for his excess medication which will be stored at my house in my fridge.

I also use this money for additional clothing for school.

I have a meeting next week and will discuss further then.

Any further advice still appreciated.
