Hi nit sire if this is the right thread but wasnt sure where else to write it?

So, me and partner are buying our first house together. I have prev owned and now sold my old house where as he has never owned a house. Is there a special mortgage we can get to take advantage of his first buy as I'm not sure we will be eligible for any government deals as I've already owned.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated x x

You can use Help to Buy or Lift Scheme as long as one of you is a first time buyer and you don’t own another home. I know this as that was our situation and I phoned up to enquire about the specifics.

My husband and I brought together 2 years ago. I sold my house to find the purchase. Nationwide gave us a first time buyer rate just because DH was a first time buyer didn't matter I wasn't!

Ah that's great thanks for the info. So did you have to pay stamp duty also?
Nationwide is who I had my first mortgage with and seem to be the better ones to go with x x

We just completed on a house purchase yesterday and sadly as I have owned in the past we were liable for stamp duty, no ftb discount even though OH was a ftb...has to be both ftb’s.
